The Fear of Change and the “What if?”

How to Handle Change

Everyone is Apprehensive about Change (we’re human)

If we’re being honest, most of us are resistant to change. It isn’t something that necessarily makes us jump for joy. So if you’re a first time Traveler or are on the brink of deciding whether to travel, hopefully we’ll have your mind made up by the time you finish reading this.

What if My Hours Get Cut?

Good news, TaleMed IS NOT most travel companies. Regardless of the facility and their policy on hour TaleMed guarantees hour at the beginning on your assignment. Meaning, you will get paid regardless!

What if I Want to Stay on Assignment?

We encourage that! If you find that near the end of your 13 weeks in a location that you just can’t leave, you can Extend! If the hospital has a need and you want to fill it then we will make that happen. It actually works out great for both of us.

What if My Desired Location Isn’t Available?

We understand this can be disheartening. However, more often than not we have opportunities close to your originally intended location. If not there are facilities available all across the United States. From Hawaii, to Texas, to upstate New York we can get you where you want to go.

What if My License Is In Jeopardy?

Note: This scenario rarely occurs – however, in the event it does TaleMed has appropriate procedures in place.

Scenario: A TaleMed RN is floated to an ICU position with only ER specific experience. (i.e. license is in jeopardy/miscommunication)

TaleMed’s Process:

  • Nurse sends write-up of issue to their TaleMed Recruiter
  • Recruiter touches base with HR, as well as the facility externally; in order to locate the disconnect that has occurred.
  • Determine appropriate plan of action
  • Dependent upon circumstances discussed, appropriate action will be taken within 24hrs of incident
  • Whether that be: Resolving the issue/eliminate floating – or – Realizing nurses license is in jeopardy – pull nurse from facility within a 2-4 week window

** In the event a nurse is pulled from a facility it is for both parties benefit. To protect from loss of license, and to maintain good standing with facility’s needs. Note, TaleMed will place the nurse in a new facility in a timely manner, guaranteed. The wellbeing of our RNs is always our first priority.

What if I Love My Assignment & Love Traveling? (wink, wink)

Congrats! That’s the goal after all. It’s always our hope that our nurses love the facility, city, and environment they are on assignment for. We do our best to get you the best match. However, in the event an unfortunate situation does arise; our team will work to make it right as soon as possible.
