Why We Chose Respect as Our First Core Value
Respect: A feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities or achievements.
TaleMed shows respect for healthcare professionals by replying to correspondence in a very timely manner.
Our six core values — Respect, Innovation, Consistency, Humility, Excellence and Resilience — drive our vision of how we do business every day. As a team, we are committed to providing better patient care, building stronger communities and supporting each other as individuals.
In our RICHER series of blogs, we will explore each core value and how it relates to our everyday life. At our recent Associate and Leadership Corporate Summits, team members spoke about each core value.
Respect as a Guiding Core Value
We can all sing R-E-S-P-E-C-T, but what does it really mean to us?
Everyone deserves respect from the onset of every partnership, according to Compliance Department Manager Steve Schlegel and Finance Manager Seth Buffenbarger.
“There’s the saying that ‘you have to earn my respect,” says Seth. “But that’s incorrect. You should give it to everyone. Then you can earn their trust.”
This core value is divided into three areas, says Steve.
- Respect for others
- Respect for yourself
- Others respecting you
“It’s a natural-born right. We all deserve a level of respect,” says Steve. “When you respect one another, you build trust, safety and well-being,” he says.
The respect-trust connection is essential at TaleMed. Our team members place HCPs with facilities in all 50 states. The bottom line at TaleMed is not completely financial. It includes our respect for our team’s well-being — in the office and in the field.
As Steve says, “Respect leads us all to a better place and a better level of success.”
