Johnny Smith Retiring – A Tribute
Retiring from Travel Nursing – at 70 years old.
Johnny’s Journey with TaleMed
Every now and again we are provided an opportunity to come into contact with those special people in life. Johnny Smith was one of those people. He began his travel nursing career at the age of 61 years old, now at the age of 70 he is calling it quits.
TaleMed was lucky enough to have Johnny on our team as a traveler. During his time in the healthcare industry he experienced 26 hospitals on 27 different contracts and even found the time to start a ranch in Nevada. He gave us a call earlier this week thanking TaleMed for the opportunity to start his travel career and for the service we had provided him throughout the years.
The DAISY Award
Joe Bartoszek was Johnny’s recruiter at TaleMed and shared that he would send Johnny to the more “challenging” environments we staffed. When Joe would call to check in on Johnny while in those tough assignments he would respond by saying, “You know Joe, when you used to get paid to dodge bullets for a living in the Marines you can pretty much handle anything.”
As a result of his hard work and determination to brighten the environment around him, we are honored to have the opportunity to award Johnny Smith The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This is the second DAISY awarded in a matter of weeks to a TaleMed nurse and we are so thrilled to be able to award Johnny this honor.
Johnny, from all your friends at TaleMed we are honored to have worked with you and to know you. You and your family are in our thoughts – we wish you all the best.
